William Harrison Hale, Sr., passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2026. U.S. Army Veteran, VFW Member, and UMWA Member. Harrison is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Nannie Hale; his wife, Shirley (Martin); his second wife, Arlene (Raines); his son, Bill; and his sister, Edna Neece. Harrison is survived by his children, Mark Stacey, Donna Lester-Carver, and Lisa Hale Fettig; his sons-in-law, Lester Carver and Lester “Butch” Fettig, and 8 grandchildren.
Harrison enjoyed hunting and fishing and time with his family playing cards, games, and watching football and wrestling. Despite traveling throughout his life, he always returned to these mountains where he grew up, raised his family, and always called home.
Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, August 27that Castlewood Funeral Home with visitation at 5 p.m. and service at 7 p.m. Burial Procession on Friday, August 28that 9:15 a.m. from Castlewood Funeral Home to Temple Hill Cemetery.
